So yeah, LXC containers are just like sandboxed virtual environments, really. Think anaconda or Python venv, sort of. The advantage to these is you can nuke them without blowing away your entire box, unlike installing stuff on bare metal. I mean, aside from the security advantages. Proxmox also allows VMs, which means you can even run a full Linux distro (or windows) on the same machine!
